Facebook working on stand-alone camera app

As regards other application news, Facebook will be developing a standalone camera app similar to the one we see in SnapChat. Video would be allowed to be recorded live through this app, providing for live streaming. Live streaming has caught on big with audiences all throughout the world, going by the success of live streaming apps like Facebook Live, Twitter’s Periscope’ and Meerkat.

Facebook’s standalone camera app will help engage its total audience composed of almost 1.4 billion users worldwide. Facebook wants its users to share photos, videos in a manner similar to how status updates are shared-in a convenient and hassle-free fashion. What has prompted Facebook to work on a standalone camera app is the astounding success of Facebook Live, which has experienced exponential growth over last few months. That said, much would depend upon how the camera app is integrated with other Facebook features thereby allowing for seamless sharing and viewing.
