Google Maps has updated Maps to include new features that will help negotiate your way through heavy traffic and provide you with regular traffic alerts. Once the destination is keyed in, a voice notification will inform you about traffic condition on your chosen route. It will provide you with advanced warning about traffic congestion-something you are free to pay heed to or ignore outright. In the case of the latter, the feature will give you an estimate of how long it will take for you to reach your destination, and guide you all the way. However, if you want to avoid traffic jams, the Google Maps feature will also provide you with a list of alternate paths that you can take. Each of these alternate routes will be examined for any adverse traffic conditions; accordingly information will be relayed to the driver.
Real time traffic updates was made available to US customers sometime back, and now it would be introduced to Indian users as well. Google maps application is available in both Android and iOS versions, and can be downloaded from GooglePlay and AppStore. Existent users of GoogleMaps needn’t bother to update their application as the new features would automatically be downloaded when the user is connected to Internet. The moment user chooses Navigation mode, Google Maps will start functioning with all of the above mentioned features.
Google Maps had recently introduced new features like voice lane guidance for users in 20 Indian cities, and ways to do away with the bothersome turn by turn navigation performed using voice calls.
