The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update is out for the Moto E (Gen 2) in India via OTA (over the air). The update is 454 MB in size and also includes the February Android security patch. The update can be manually obtained by going to Settings>About Phone>System Update.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will include revised app permissions; new Web links handling techniques; updated Chrome feature that will enhance the web experience for Android users; mobile payment system-Android Pay; fingerprint APIs that developers can add into their apps; a Silent Feature for sound and vibrate mode; a ‘Do Not Disturb’ mode that would notify users only about alarms and notifications; and last but not the least, a Doze feature that optimizes battery usage.
Motorola will also introduce some other changes specific to Moto that will become effective after updating to the new Android OS version. The upgrade to Android M will see the Moto Assist feature getting removed. Apart from this there will be other changes as well as part of the enhancement process.
