Facebook Messenger has come out with a Messenger update that lets you play a basketball-mini game with your friend directly from the chat window. All that one is required to do is select the basketball emoji and send it over to your friend. The friend at the other end simply has to tap at the emoji, and you are ready to play!
The basketball will be located at different positions at the bottom of the screen, and with a swiping gesture the ball can be put into the basket. Your aim is to score consecutive baskets, and the going gets tough as you progress with the game. There are emojis that keep cropping up while you hit and miss, so that if you score a basket you are treated with ‘happiness’ emoji, even otherwise there’s the ‘Way to Go’ Emoji. The funny thing with the game is that the hoop keeps moving around, and a time comes when it starts moving rather rapidly and vaguely as well.
Facebook had earlier come out with a chess game that could be played with Facebook Messenger, and this could be accessed by simply entering @FBChess in the conversation window. Facebook had plans to launch a mini games section within the Facebook Messenger but there is no further word yet from Facebook on its materialisation plans.
It is also reported that you need the most recent version of Messenger to be able to play Basketball on Facebook Messenger. This new basketball game from Facebook is a fun way to kill time with your friends; its launch has been well-timed with the ongoing March Madness.
