Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) & Galaxy J7 (2016) launched for ₹13,990 & ₹15,990 respectively

The 2016 editions of Samsung Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 which were made available in South Korea recently has been officially launched in India They would succeed the Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 that were launched last year. The two models are priced at ₹13,990 and ₹15,990 respectively and can be purchased exclusively from Flipkart from May 10th onwards. The colour options for the two phones include Radiant Gold, White and Midnight Black.

The Samsung Galaxy J5 is a 5.2″ phone with AMOLED display and powered by a 1.2 Ghz quad core Snapdragon 410 processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 16 GB in-built memory. Memory is expandable to 128 GB using microSD cards. The Galaxy J5 weighs 158 grams and is 4G compatible as well. The phone also supports Bluetooth 4.1 and NFC. The dual SIM Galaxy J5 also has a 3100 mAh batter powering it. Based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow the phone comes with a 13 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera with LED flash.

The Samsung Galaxy J7, on the other hand, comes with a 5.5″ display and is powered by a 1.6 Ghz octa core Exynos 7870 processor with same RAM, inbuilt storage and camera specifications as the Galaxy J5. A 3300 mAh battery provides backup to the phone, and it also comes with additional features such as Ultra power saving mode and S-Bike Mode.

Up until now, Galaxy J2, Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 together have accounted for almost 20% of the revenue that Samsung has earned through overall sales of phones in the Indian market.
